Tutorial status update
Alright, we are back. This is the message I got that the encrypted file this is a file that I sent up there. It took awhile it actually just stay stuck on the screen. I went out of this screen because after about 15 minutes I just basically called it quits. I went to the support page which they have one that you can actually communicate with these guys. Not via email but they post it right there online. I’ll show you that in a bit and the FAQs. I went through all that kind of stuff there.
Opening the unencrypted file
This is the file and I am going to open it right now. I clicked on it, I downloaded it and this is a madhouse I haven’t opened it yet. So this is a live opening of an unencrypted file from this cryptovirus and there it is…unencrypted. I have the encrypted one there as well but we are not going to go into that detail. So the key is there and it’s viable. The chances I think is extremely high so now I got my work cut out for me. Now I got to go to find some bitcoins and make the payments.
Finding where to make the Bitcoin payment
I don’t want to close this screen right here. Basically, they give you like an account. You know this is my account number so I am going to go through this here. I got to create a bitcoin wallet and purchase some bitcoin. Here I got to do some homework and make sure I don’t lose the money and the transaction. So I will be doing some home work on these wallets and how to get bitcoin. At the end of this I am going to go through all this trouble. But really to make it easy for someone else coming along and also for myself. Once I go through it, it will make it a lot easier for us to provide this service as well.
Sending the payment
So we get that and we are going to have to send those bitcoin to this address. Which is going to give us a receipt. Then we are going to put that receipt number in this box and pay it. And then what they say is they provide a software that I guess you downloaded and unencrypts the whole hardware, one shot. I’m off it’s late at night so tomorrow my job is to get a bit coin wallet, get $500 in bit coins and make this payment.
A few little hiccups
The other part that’s problematic here and the reason why I am doing this is that to do this I have to have all my computer shut down. This one here is a Linux computer so I don’t have any problem here I am wifi but basically I am going to show you around my shop. These are all computers here all the network cables out of the router, we got computers here, all these computers here that are on wifi. We had to turn everything off that one is on my network so there is network connection there. I mean I got computers all over the place so there is one thing you want to do is you want to make if you are working on this, not that they are saying that they have to do that. I mean I scan the computer and pretty much the infection is supposed to be out of there but I’m not going to take any risk.
Avoid reinfection!
All these, I mean I got at least 10 computers here they are all off, there is a Mac that I am working on and that one is disconnected too all these everything is off. The last thing you want to do is get another computer infected in the process, now if you are just at home and you just got one or two computers you’re fine. If you are shop and you are attempting something like this you know don’t get yourself in more trouble than you’re already in especially when your personal or work client could be yours.
This is a client computer here, these are the only two that are online. Client computer and then over here the one that we just took a look at which is my Linux computer right there. So I’ll catch you guys in the morning and I will tell what happen with this bitcoin purchase. Catch you later.
