Lenovo Horizon 2s HDD to SSD Replacement

Hey guys welcome back, today we have a Lenovo Horizon 2S. The computer started getting slower and slower until it got stuck in auto repair. That most likely meant the hard drive was faulty. We had an external drive with windows on it so we can go through the computer and check the drive, we went to the BIOS to change what it should boot up to and the hard drive was so bad it didn’t let me boot it from the external one. So, what we have to do is install an SSD so it gets improved from a hard drive. First we started by removing one screw under the rubber leg that the back cover has and then with a pry tool in between the LCD and back cover unclip the clips holding it down and the LCD should pop up and with the LCD flex will still be connected to the board from there we place the screen somewhere safe and we start by removing the battery connector before working on anything. From there we disconnect the hard drive by removing a couple screws on the mount that holds the drive in place and we can gently pull the drive up and disconnect it, from there we remove it from the mount it is on and test the drive on another PC if you’d like, we did test the drive and the computer was not even detecting the drive using a software we use called Hard Disk Sentinel. This drive was completely dead which meant we should carry on by replacing it. We gave the PC a boost by replacing it with an SSD which we mounted on the mount and then connected it onto the PC and screwed it back in place from there we connected the battery again and put everything back by starting with the LCD which will be placed back on the back cover by sliding the top in first and then clipping the sides and the bottom and screwing in that one screw holding it all together. From there we turned on the PC and it took us to the install Window’s screen which was a good sign, all we had to do is install windows and the pc was back to normal. And that’s what’s going on today at PC 911.
