Hey guys, here we are back at PC911. We are working on this Asus Ultrabook and basically this customer wanted to do an upgrade to Windows 10. It was running Windows 7 which is what I recommend which is really the best operating system at the moment. But they insisted on going up to Windows 10 and we did so. Let me show you what happened we got the battery over here showing not charging. That’s the first bad sign we got there, also of you look at the charger not charging. We went online to Asus looking for drivers pretty much went to the whole nine yards. It’s just not going to charge, so that was the first thing we found.
The other thing that we ran into is the function keys up here, the brightness is not working…not a big deal you can probably deal with that. Also the volume keys up here not working either probably not a big deal either. These are some of the things that might happen when you upgrade and luckily Windows 10 allows you to go back. Which is what we are going to do here we are just going to go back to Windows 7. But keep that in mind that not everything may function in Windows 10. Even though you’re getting prompted the Windows 10. Telling you that you are ready for the upgrade does not always work that way.
Many times we get computers that are coming in and actually crash during the upgrade. So just keep that in mind if you’re doing the upgrade you are going to take it basically like flipping a coin. everything works well and if you want to have us do it. Just bring it in we’ll take care of it for you. We’ll get through all the headaches and we’ll do your best to see if we can get your Windows 10 running for now. I still recommend Windows 7 Professional would be even better than any of the other versions. Thanks for watching.
we had to uninstall Windows 10. Went back to Windows 7 it still gave us a hard time so some of the drivers were still there so we had to uninstall, reinstall and it took us a little while. So as you can see that’s charging so also the other items the adjustment for the screen brightness up and down. fixed. So pretty much everything is back to normal so just giving you a little follow up to show you that yes Window 10 was having some issues with these software.
The battery is a standard driver. I could understand where the volume controls on the keyboard could go off of the screen brightness could go off. But if you ask Microsoft Windows 10 is the best thing since sliced bread but maybe a year from now or two we could say that for now If you got Windows 7 I would stick with it till Microsoft says that they are going to cut it off and then I would consider it at that time. Thanks for watching.
