Need to buy Bitcoins?
This is going to be a little follow up to previous videos about the crypto locker. How to get bitcoins and try to do that.
Well, the last time we tried to do the recovery for the crypto locker they never responded. So here we’re stuck with some bitcoin in our wallet and some of you probably ask what you do now?
Well, you can leave it there and hope it goes up or goes down just like money in the bank or you can spend it. The only part you probably think it won’t work can I spend it? Well, I’m going to show you here how you can spend it at eBay, at Best Buy, Bed Bath & Beyond, Amazon…anywhere. That is what I am going to do to get my money out of here and do that.
Let me show you how to do that. Amazon itself is not taking bitcoin. I don’t think you can buy at Best Buy with Bitcoin either but we are here at a website called gift.
Getting ready to make a purchase
I have used this before actually prior to this. You purchase a gift card and then from there you can used that pretty much any of these places. I buy a lot at Amazon. I’ve had an initial purchase of $100 make sure all goes through it pretty smooth.
I am going to do this for you guys so you can see how it works pretty simple and it’s pretty solid. We’re going to buy here an Amazon gift card. I am going to go to $400, I got a little bit more than that but let’s just go $400. Excuse the rough video but this is how it goes over here at PC911.
Bitcoin proceed, we are going to use BitPay we are going to need .95 Bitcoin so we are good for that. We are going to get this screen here, what you see here that’s how much you are going to send. That’s the address. So, basically we are going to copy and paste that, so we are going to grab this right here. Copy and we are going to paste here. We are going to be sending Bitcoins, so we are going to paste this here as the receiving address and then we are going to put here the amount of Bitcoin. Which is going to copy and paste, you don’t want to make a mistake here so just copy and paste make things easy for you.
Authenticating with 2-factor authentication
Now, we are going to have a little trouble here. There is two-factor authentication is an app that you have on your phone. It gives you a code and you got to enter that here. I am going to try to switch over and get it if not the video is going to pause and then we come back to it. We got that two-factor authentication. I couldn’t show you on the video because that’s on my screen but put that in here and basically, it’s to just make this safer. And that’s it, you can put a message here like so that’s going to be $400.
We are going to go send from wallet and it shows you there send Bitcoins to that address. We are coming back over here and we are closing the screen now and it is going to ask have we completed a purchase? Yes, we have, this message takes a while up to 24 hours. It actually was pretty quick so I am just going to come right back to this and you can see the forward box in my wallet.
Wrapping up the process
So we are back and we got an email and this was quick maybe 2 minutes. So let’s go back to that screen. I can find it and we are going to go to my wallet and I got two gift cards for $500. Because this was split up. This first one I had already done I actually did it today prior to this video. Just to make sure it works, we don’t want to have a video and then fail on the video. Even though that would probably be more popular.
So there you go, again I’m just going to go to this main page gifts. My gift cards lots of stores here, you can look through that. You can buy some coffee, Home Depot, this is loaded…loaded…loaded. So you buy any of these things with bitcoin through gift, I am not promoting gift I’m just giving a heads up. Thanks for watching.
See how you can protect yourself from phising emails.
