Can a bad CPU still post? Corsair Gaming PC Ryzen CPU Crashing.

Hey everybody, here is a little story of a computer we’ve been working on today here that’s kind of interesting maybe it helps somebody out there uh so this is a Corsair Custom Build its got a Ryzen 7 3700X boots to the bios. The main issue when it came in was the customer said he was getting a bluescreen, it was bluescreening so then he went to just reinstall the operating system and it would fail. We took it in as the same thing to re-install the operating system, maybe the customer was doing something wrong or the pc had something minor like just reseat the ram or etc. So, when we came to boot the pc with one of our drives it would go straight to Auto repair and it’ll fail and re boot and fail over and over, so we said let’s go straight to hardware. So, what we did was run Mem test and figures that both rams failed then we tested it individually and both failed, we then tested one of our working ram and It failed. So, we removed his ram and tested it on one of our boards and the ram was ok. We thought it was a mother board problem at this point, since the pc posted and got to the bios, we thought it couldn’t be a bad CPU, we ended up taking the cup out and swapping it onto one of our boards and the CPU failed and it was a bad CPU. So, this was the first time I saw that the CPU was bad but it still Went to the BIOS and you could change settings in it and everything. And that’s what’s going on today at PC911.
