The computer wont power up
Hi everybody, welcome back to what’s going on over here at PC 911 in Miami. Here we have an HP desktop it stopped working a customer presses the power button and no results. That is typical of a bad power supply so that’s the first thing we took a look at. So we put another power supply in and everything looks like it is running, so the power supply burned out. A couple things to think about in this situation. Number 1 is a power surge/surge protection for your power to prevent that. I am going to show you something else happens to your computer when the power just gets lost like that. One of the things that happen is this right here – Windows is unable to start.
Does Windows need to be repaired?
You all know that when you are shut down your computer you should be shutting it down. According to the Start button in Windows you don’t just pull the cord off of the wall. And when you have a power outage or a power supply light goes out that’s what happens. So in this case it came up but Windows is corrupt so hopefully Windows has this start up repair. Hopefully it fixes it and you are good to go. Otherwise we would wind up having to repair the Windows boot up files.
Battery backups are important
The moral of this story is you need to have a battery backup on all your computer desktops so that if your power goes out it does not shut down it gives you a minute or two, five or ten depending on which size you buy. So that you are able to shut down, finish what you started and not run into this, so it protects it. Let me show you here every station, every computer that we use has this connected to it, so that’s two. What we have here is at least ten, we have two right here which are your phones, routers and all the computers all back here in our text station as well. Not as important we got one back here and I show you around the place we have at least 15 of these everywhere you go we have one.So
So tip of the day over here is use a battery backup on all your desktop computers and save yourselves some headaches – thanks for watching.
